Basically Mack Bolan for the cyberpunk set with a dose of cyberpunk alternate history and a main character lacking in impulse control make for a fun read if you don’t think about it too hard. Diverging from our history with the success of Operation Sealion and then the death of Hitler with Valkyrie, the modern world is divided between then Americans, the Germans, the Chinese and the Russians. Cybernetically and biologically enhanced agents called Levels are responsible for ferreting out secrets of the other powers and thwarting their aims in their own territory. The daughter of the most successful Level ever, Alix is following in her father’s footsteps and soon finds herself in nearly over her head tracking down the mystery behind her father’s death as she treks across the world.
